The costs of cremation and the degree of service vary widely across Pennsylvania.
Prior to the formation of the Cremation Society in 1999, consumers had to directly contact each and every funeral home to get specific information and costs concerning cremation and the many “options” because there is no standard. Then when a consumer is most vulnerable, the funeral home will suggest additional services and products thus raising the cost of cremation and services. In the end, the consumer ends up paying a lot more money than they intended. The Pennsylvania Cremation Society insulates the consumer from the typical funeral home by helping them get the lower cost for services offered in Pennsylvania with no up-selling or hidden costs through our Honored Provider.
By state law, only licensed funeral directors in the state of Pennsylvania can make arrangements for cremation. As consumers we have sought out licensed funeral homes who believe as we do in simple cremation. They can discuss cremation costs and packages offered to our members and can assist our members in many ways. All inquiries to The Pennsylvania Cremation Society will be directed to our Honored Provider funeral home with which we work seamlessly on behalf of our members.
One of the benefits of going through The Pennsylvania Cremation Society is that our Honored Provider funeral home offers special discount to our members, much like the members of the AAA or AARP receive.
The Pennsylvania Cremation Society offers cremation information and only cremation information. We work together with our contracted funeral home to handle your services according to Pennsylvania law and your wishes.
